Doing the Whole 30 this post and using the product had to be pushed back a week because I was not able to use protein powders while completing.
Thanks to Sweat Pink and Fit Approach I was able to try out IdealLean French Vanilla protein powder and their IdealLean Fat Burner capsules. I am always excited to try out new protein and this was no exception to that! When it comes to fat burning capsules/weight loss pills I am a bit more hesitant because I don’t know what they will do and I don’t want/need to lose weight. My goal right now is to maintain and tone up. Continue reading
I am always one to try out a new product. Particularly when it is something that will improve my health and wellness.
Recently I was sent (thank you Sweat Pink/Fit Approach!) a beautiful gift basket with the following items – Amazing Grass Protein Superfood in Chocolate Peanut Butter, Amazing Grass Mason Jar with glass straw, Prana Yoga Towel, and an Amazing Grass reusable tote bag. When I found out I was selected for the Amazing Grass Campaign I was pretty excited. When it arrived and included more than just the protein I was so surprised. I have a huge stash of mason jars and love using them for my smoothies and other food related storage.
I am all about smoothies and of course anything that contains avocado so why not create something different for breakfast?!
A few months ago I was fortunate enough to become a Sweat Pink Ambassador through Fit Approach. The mission of Fit Approach is as follows:
We believe that kicking ass is best done in pretty shoes. We’ve learned that real women sweat, and sweat hard. We know that assertiveness, strength, and ambition are the ultimate feminine qualities. We concede that sometimes it takes hours to get ready, but we’re also no strangers to just rolling out of bed and going. We’re convinced that we run faster in pink shoelaces. We believe in pushing ourselves, and we believe in giving ourselves a break, too. We’re all about the rush of endorphins and the thrill of the challenge. We’re all for looking great and feeling even better. We’re committed to finding our best fit, and making it stick.
We sweat pink.
Not only do I get to hand out pretty pink laces to those who would want a pair for their running shoes (for FREE just ask me) but I have also been granted the opportunity to test and review Vega Sport Protein. This campaign is all about how I fuel myself through training and exercise. It is so important to get enough protein in your diet so that you can build those long lean muscles that you desire. I was given a box of their Sport Protein – Recover to try out. With 12 individual packets the possibilities are endless! Throughout the next month I will share with you different recipes that I have used this product with.
I am always hesitant on trying out new protein’s but since this would not cost me anything I figured why not? I am hesitant because I had a bad experience with experimenting last year and it made me say to myself “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it, even if it will cost a little extra!” So with that I would continue to use the same protein powder for all my needs. But I digress…
Last week in the mail I received my box of protein and was excited to try it out. The first two things I made with it were smoothies and both were DELICIOUS! I knew right away I would not have a problem liking Vega Protein. Today I am going to share with you one of the ‘recipes’ so that you can try it out and let me know how you like it.
1 packet of Vega Sport Protein – Recover
2 cups of Almond Breeze Almond Milk
1 packet of Sambozan Acai Smoothie Pack
1 tablespoon Cinnamon (can use less or more depending on your taste)
Handful of ice cubes
Place all ingredients into your blender (I use the fantastic NutriBullet) and tada you have a delicious smoothie!
If you are scared of the color green don’t be because this smoothie is so delicious! I am sometimes one of those but you can’t judge a book by its cover because in the end the green smoothies and juices are usually the best tasting.

Two of my favorite ingredients to use lately have been Kale & Spinach. Not so much eating them as you see them but mixing them in smoothies, juices, or even my protein waffles/pancakes. Sometimes in the morning I put baby spinach in my egg whites.
Spinach is low in fat and cholesterol. It is high in vitamins including A, C, E, & K and also many minerals including calcium, iron, and potassium. Did you know that only 1 cup of spinach gives you nearly 25% of the recommended daily fiber amount that you need? Spinach can also keep your bones strong because it contains antioxidants that can help prevent osteoporosis. So why not add a little spinach to something you are eating! P.S. I always buy organic!
Kale has quickly become a favorites of many. It is in the same family as cabbage, broccoli, and brussel sprouts. Including kale in your diet can bring health benefits including lower cholesterol and cancer protection. It is high in Vitamin A, C, & K.
Spinach Protein Waffles
1/4 c Egg Whites
1/2 c spinach
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 tbsp almond milk
1 scoop protein powder (I use Perfect Fit)
1/2 tbsp flaxseed
Almond butter to top
Mix all ingredients together in a blender (except the almond butter). If you choose you can make a waffle. If making pancakes make them small and wait until they bubble before you flip or else they will fall apart. Top with almond butter and enjoy!
There are many different variations that I have made to this recipe so I will share with you a few of them. Create your own and have fun with it. All mixed in a blender 🙂
1 c spinach
1 c kale
1 c water
handful of ice
1/2 tbsp flaxseed
1 apple or pear
1 c kale or spinach
1 c frozen mango
1 tsp hemp seed
1 tsp flax seed
1 tsp goji powder
1 scoop protein powder
Recently, I decided to take my love for pumpkin to a whole other level with a delicious protein smoothie. Continue reading
