Happy New Year! It will really be a goal of mine to bring you more blog posts in 2017. I have started a few posts already to make it easier for me.
Back in December the new Whole 30 cookbook came out. In New York City there was an event at Hu Kitchen and I knew I had to attend. My last post was a recap of the event. We received a gift bag that included the cookbook as well as a Tessemae Whole 30 approved (not all Tessemae items are compliant with W30!) dressing. In my bag was the Lemon Garlic variety. Since I don’t eat salad I had to figure out a way to use it. Continue reading
I am going to do this recap a little differently than my first Whole 30. I didn’t do it for my second because I kind of decided last minute and I didn’t take many pics/keep much record of what I ate.
For those who are currently completing the January Whole 30 what are some meals you are making? What has been your favorite so far? For those who would like to complete one I hope that my meal guide helps you out a bit. When I finish this one I will post each weeks menu sheet that I made as well as the tracker I made for food, water, and workouts. Continue reading
There are certain things in life that need no explanation. Things that you do not need to feel sorry about. Choices you make that are for the better.
The choice for me to complete my first Whole 30 earlier this year was one of the best decisions I have made. I have only been questioned about it a couple of times but really did not feel the need to justify my choices. Other than that I have received so much support from those around me. In fact, several people I know have done the Whole 30 because they watched me. Continue reading
A day so many of us will enjoy! Happy National Chocolate Day!
Welcome to Chapter 2 of my favorite ‘healthier’ items to eat!
Today I am bringing you a new staple in our kitchen Banza pasta. I feel this is delicious pasta without the guilt.
Each week I am going to try and bring you a blog post about my favorite healthy snack choices. I have a nice size list so this is something that can go on for a bit of time. I will also bring you a regular blog post whether recipe or tips each week as well. Let’s hope I can give you the 2 posts per week!
The motto of this first featured product is “CHOCOLATE: IT’S FOOD, NOT CANDY.” Now if that isn’t an amazing motto I don’t know what is! Who doesn’t love a little chocolate in their lives?!
Throughout my Whole 30 journey I made a lot of meat balls either out of chicken or turkey. They were an easy item and already portioned. I knew exactly how many to eat to get the correct amount of protein. I decided to change it up a bit once I finished because we needed something different so I went with a meatloaf.
This came out so good and juicy. The turkey wasn’t dry at all. I can’t wait for you to try this one out. I know you will love it as much as I did. Continue reading
This past weekend I was looking up recipes to make and trying to figure out something a little different to do with eggs. I went through at least a dozen recipes and saw nothing that really caught my eye. Instead I went into the kitchen with some things that I had and made my own, if you have a recipe like this I am sorry as I didn’t see it :). It is very simple and it came out AMAZING!
Having fun in the kitchen always keeps things exciting! Looking through the fridge and pantry I decide to throw ingredients together. Sometimes it is to finish something and other times it is to see how the flavors come out.
Today I decided to try quinoa for the first time since finishing the Whole 30. The recipe is REALLY easy and SUPER tasty! Continue reading
I am a summer obsessed girl. I love all things summer. The sun. The heat. The pool. Having BBQs. Fun outdoor adventures. The beach and everything in between.
That being said I am all about the fall because of the delicious scents and foods that appear in the stores during that time of year. This past weekend I went to buy new hand soap at Bath & Body Works and of course the entire bag was filled with fall scents!
When I decided last week I was going to make this dish it made me slightly sad because it screams fall, changing leaves, cooler temperatures, and shorter days. I did have the intentions to make it because I wanted to use up some straggling ingredients in the kitchen. Continue reading
